GDF SUEZ Energy UK was the industrial and commercial supplier with the highest percentage of energy from renewable sources in 2007. We have been extremely successful in our sourcing within the UK and across Europe, making us one of the few suppliers able to supply large quantities of renewable energy for UK business customers. We supply energy from Wind, Biomass and Hydroelectric sources.
Approximately 72% of our renewable energy is derived from hydro stations in Europe, while approximately 14% comes from long term power purchase agreements with wind farms in Scotland.
Our renewable credentials are in line with the Fuel Mix Disclosure regulations and our Renewable Energy is considered as 'green' and 'sustainable' by Ofgem, DECC and HM Revenue & Customs.
We guarantee to submit the requisite number of Levy Exemption Certificates (LECs) to HM Revenue & Customs to offset either all or a nominated percentage of your Climate Change Levy obligation.
