CarbonZero Gas gives you the option to offset all or a percentage of the carbon emitted from the amount of gas that you consume.
How the CarbonZero Gas Product Works:
- The product will not affect your supply contract in any way: this arrangement simply runs alongside your normal supply contract and for the same duration
- The fee paid for CarbonZero Gas is invested by GDF SUEZ Energy UK in reputable and viable carbon offsetting projects operated by our partner, co2balance, which, founded in 2003, provides completely ethical and transparent means of carbon offsetting.
- GDF SUEZ Energy UK will provide a certificate confirming that offsetting took place, on your behalf as proof of your contribution to the scheme
Investment Projects
Money invested will be used for projects including:
Displacing the fossil fuel generated energy from India's National Grid through a small scale 7.25MW wind farm in the Tamilnadu region of India. The project consists of 17 wind turbine generators and has created job opportunities to the local population, contributed to poverty alleviation of the neighbouring community and aided the development of basic amenities to community. The project activity also contributes in economic well being of the nation's economy by reducing import of coal and other fossil fuel for electricity generation in hard currency.
