Electricity Generation
Since 2002, GDF SUEZ Energy UK has been investing in new electricity generation capacity in the UK. We own and operate Shotton CombinedHeat and Power (CHP) power station and Teesside Power station which is Europe’s largest Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) CHP electricity generation plant. We aim to continue expanding our portfolio through acquisitions and investment, strengthening our position as a major player in the UK electricity generation market.
Investing for a Sustainable Future
Craigengelt Wind Farm is GDF SUEZ first onshore wind farm project in the UK. The wind farm was completed in 2010 and is located in Craigengelt near Stirling, Scotland. It consists of 8 turbines with a total capacity of 20 MW, which is enough electricity to power 13,000 homes and prevent the release of 27,000 tonnes of CO2 per annum.
