Site Works

Are you planning to build new premises or expanding and enhancing your existing ones? Either way GDF SUEZ Energy UK can organise the technical process that this would involve on your behalf.

Gas Site Works

If you are constructing new premises, we can offer our expertise to help you plan, design and install the necessary gas connection and carry out the technical installations required at your site. GDF SUEZ Energy UK will project manage the new connection and liaise with National Grid Gas, your appointed contractors, and any other parties that may be involved, to ensure a successful and timely connection to the gas network.

If you are expanding and need to increase the gas flow to your site we can assist by project managing the technical aspects of a gas site works project. We will aim to minimise any technical issues that may arise by careful planning and management. Our service in this area ranges from planning and design through to full implementation.

Please contact GDF SUEZ Energy UK on 0141 249 3933 if you require further information on our services or if you would like to discuss a future project with us. Alternatively you can contact your account manager directly.

New Electricity ConnectionsIf you are you planning to build new premises or expanding and enhancing your existing ones and need new electricity connections, you should contact the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) for the appropriate region. The contact numbers for the DNOs are available here.

Although you must discuss your new connection in detail directly with your DNO, the typical stages in completing a new connection for a larger industrial or commercial project are outlined below. (Note that where timescales are given below they are purely indicative and will vary according to DNO)

  • Submitting an application for the connection to the DNO, providing site layout plans and location details.
  • Receiving a connection offer from your DNO which will outline the timings and costs associated with your connection project (this stage can take from 15 to 65 days depending on the complexity of the work required and the offer will be valid for a defined period, eg 90 days).
  • Acceptance of the connection offer and payment.
  • Delivery of the connection works by your DNO, and receipt of your 13 digit Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) – an important number which you will need to provide to us as your appointed electricity supplier.

Once your connection is ready you will need to install metering; to do so you should contact us as your electricity supplier and provide us with the MPAN for the connection provided to you by the DNO.  We need at least 15 working days’ notice in order ensure your metering is installed on time.
